Relax and enjoy the solitude of camping in the pristine wilderness of Yarmouth County. Our rivers and lakes are second to none in Nova Scotia. Whether you travel by canoe or kayak, a soft adventure awaits you on Quinan Lake or the Tusket River, a peaceful reprieve from the hectic city pace.
Eco-tourism at its best, Spring-Haven Canoe Outfitting can provide you with an adventure you won't soon forget. Camp out in an authentic Tipi. Experience the magic and wonder of the Mi'kmaq culture first hand. Enjoy authentic wilderness cuisine prepared for you by your friendly French Acadian guide Larry Muise.
Imagine the deep blue and burgundy colors of the sky after the sun has set beyond the horizon, the silhouette of a majestic old growth Acadian forest that surrounds you. The crackling of a camp fire as the embers float up to the heavens and mingling with the star filled sky. The pale creamy band of stars that make up the milkyway stretching from horizon to horizon, interrupted only by the odd meteor streaking across the heavens. The cry of the great Northern Loon echoes around the lake, the haunting calls of the eastern coyote and the hooting of one of the many species of owl that inhabit the Tusket River Valley.

In the background, a majestic canvas tipi, eighteen feet across and twenty two feet in height adorned with paintings of native species of animals and birds. Inside is spacious and inviting. A fire pit adorns the center making this a comfortable shelter even in the colder months of the year. Sleep peacefully to the sound of the waves lapping at the lake shore and awake to the smell of fresh brewed coffee and a delicious breakfast prepared over an open campfire.
If wilderness camping is not in your plans, daytrips to the local beaches using our open deck sit on top kayaks to surf the waves is another great vacation activity. Or a short excursion on one of the many rivers or lakes with a picnic lunch provided. How about a interpretive hike in a semi wilderness garden. A perfect way to unwind and relieve the stress of everyday life.
